• Microsoft Updates Code of Conduct

Microsoft today posted a letter making changes to the Code. They are now allowing Racial and Sexual Identifiers
What does that mean? In your gamer tag, profile or bio you can now freely express your race, nationality, religion and sexual orientation. Microsoft says it originally prevented the references to prevent people from being harassed or insulted. Many people protested the decision and one lesbian woman who was suspended for her gamertag caused a major media out cry. The other event that pushed the issue was the game "The Ballad of Gay Tony" Many asked why can we play a game on Xbox with a title we can't use ourselves.

Microsoft is pushing forward their original policy. If you think that you can abuse or harass other gamers you are
sadly mistaken. Microsoft's promises "increased stringency and enforcement to prevent the misuse of these terms." In other words, if you're legitimately gay and want to express it on Xbox Live, go for it. If you want to use it as a pejorative, this isn't free license to do so.
